Brainiacs groups are conducted over Telehealth and are always 100% free; because they are funded by your donations to the Brainiacs Foundation, none of our members will ever receive a bill.
Brainiacs groups are guided by an experienced neuropsychologist with decades of specialized training in addressing the issues faced by people who are dealing with a brain injury or disease, whether they are affected themselves or are family members or caregivers. The groups are formal group therapy sessions. The guidance of an expert professional using scientifically proven strategies offers benefits beyond those that can be gained in a less formal group. Dr. Spitz’s facilitation, combined with the shared experience of the group makes for truly transcendent experiences.
Brainiacs groups are closed groups; all of the members join at the same time. Group sizes are small. Capped at a maximum of 12 members each, they take part in 12-week long cycles, with a short break and then groups are started again. Commitment to the cycle is crucial to the process; members agree to participate in all meetings. If for any reason you are unable to attend a session, please contact us regarding your conflict as soon as possible. if your absence is unavoidable, your place in the group will be reserved.
Group sessions are not a substitute for individual therapy or clinical care.
